McDonald’s Extra Value Meals Are Back to Make Fast Food Affordable Again
The early-aughts Dollar Menu is long gone — but this could be the next-best thing.
McDonald’s is bringing back its Extra Value Menu this year — and it’s kicking off with two budget breakfast options to start. Starting September 8, diners can get a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, hash brown, and a small coffee for just $5. Swinging by the Golden Arches for dinner? A Big Mac, fries, and a medium drink are yours for only $8 this month.
A total of eight Extra Value Meals will be added to national menus in the upcoming months, McDonald’s said.
This year’s savings cover all major meals: There are four breakfast options, such as the Sausage McMuffin With Egg, Egg McMuffin, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit, or Sausage, Egg, and Cheese McGriddle. Forgot to pack lunch for the office? You can also snag a Big Mac, 10-piece McNuggets, Quarter Pounder, or a McCrispy with a side and drink. Deals are available through the end of the year, the Chicago-based chain confirms.
Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah event; manhunt for shooter still ongoing
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has “images” of the suspect in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, a right-wing activist and ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, the agency revealed on Thursday morning.
“We have images of the suspect,” FBI special agent in charge Robert Bohls told reporters in Utah on Thursday. Law enforcement agencies said they had accessed video footage of the suspect and confirmed that he arrived on campus at 11:52 a.m. local time on Wednesday.“Suspect blended in well with a college institution.
We’re not releasing any details right now. We will soon, but right now, we’re not. That individual appears to be of college age,” he added.“We have tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof, across the roof, to a shooting location,” said Beau Mason, commissioner for the Utah Department of Public Safety.“
After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off of the building and fled off of the campus and into a neighborhood,” he added.Mason said Kirk’s body will be flown to his home in Arizona on Thursday.Bohls said the FBI recovered a weapon on Thursday, suspected of being the one used in the killing.

Each meal deal varies in price, starting with current breakfast meals at $5, to an $8 10-piece Chicken McNuggets Meal that’s coming in November. Compared to the eyebrow-raising $18 Big Mac rumors circulating a few years ago, that sounds like a steal.
